400 days before the start of the 2026 World Cup, the Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, along with Clara Brugada, head of Government of Mexico City, highlighted the relevance of the participation of the three host Mexican cities: Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara, in this unprecedented sporting event.

In a venue full of history, the Estadio Azteca, which has witnessed memorable sporting feats, it was announced that it will again be the epicenter to start a new chapter of national pride with the 2026 World Cup. It was stated that this event will transcend beyond football, being an occasion to showcase to the world the hospitality, solidarity, inclusion, and joy of the Mexican people, as well as the historical richness of the nation and the hospitality of Mexico City, led by Clara Brugada.
